Principal of Piper Prairie Elementary
Hello, Piper Prairie! This year marks my twentieth year in education. I have undergraduate degrees in K-12 Special Education and 5-12 English Language Arts from the University of South Dakota. I have a Masters Degree in Special Education from the University of Northern Iowa and my Ed.S. in PreK-12 Building Administration from the University of South Dakota. I was a classroom teacher for eleven years in both high and low-incidence special education classrooms. This is my ninth year in administration. I served as a Special Education Coordinator for the Wyandotte Comprehensive Special Education Cooperative for three years. I then moved into an Elementary Assistant Principal position at Stony Point North Elementary in USD 500. For the last two years have served as an Assistant Principal at Piper Middle School. My husband and I have lived in the Piper district since 2009 and have two daughters.
Assistant Principal of Piper Prairie Elementary
As I enter my 25th year in education, I also begin my fifth year as an assistant principal with Piper School District. I started my administrative career at Piper East, before we opened Piper Creek. I’m excited to start this year at Piper Prairie.
I grew up in KCK, taught art at Quindaro Elementary, and Eisenhower Middle school for the first 14 years of my career. I also taught at David Brewer in LV, and Broken Arrow in SMSD before beginning my career in school administration. I’m a proud graduate of Fort Hays State University with two undergraduate degrees, and Baker University with my Master's degree in School Leadership.
My family and I live in Piper where my children have attended their entire time at school. My son, Aki is a senior and my daughter, Rosie is a 4th grader.
